Problem Booting
A few days ago i tried starting counter strike and when i entered a server the screen froze with rows of red dots and then the monitor shut off. Tried a few more times, same deal. So I system restored to a point about a few days before the problem started, same thing. I had undone an itunes update and when i ran itunes, the system crashed and wouldnt boot again. Every screen had columns of green or red lines. I backed up my files in safe mode and straight up recovered the system to factory settings, but it didnt change anythin. Whenever I try to boot, I freeze up on a screen with columns of green lines.
Ive got an 8800 gts , 700w PSU from Delta Electronics, Intel Core 2 Quad @ 2.40 GHz. Processor temp - -31 C Internal temp - 34 C Remote temp - 47 C Is this a hardware issue? |

Re: Problem Booting
Sounds like an issue with either the graphics card VRAM, or the power supply causing the VRAM to fail. Delta Electronics does not make good PSUs, at all, and they have inflated power ratings and high failure rates.
I would get a decent power supply like the Corsair TX650W (look on newegg.com if you're in the US; newegg.ca in Canada; ebuyer.com in the UK), it costs about US$100. If the system still has problems I would hazard a guess that voltage fluctuation from the Delta PSU ruined the graphics card VRAM, in which case get the 8800GTS replaced under warranty if possible; else you'll need a new one.
