Nvidia or ATI? What is your budget?
What card did you purchase?

Re: Dell gx260 Video Card

I'm looking for a 256 or 512 if i can.
I got a Nvidia agp 8x,dont remember the number but was 512.
I saw that i can't install an 8x in my slot. The screen was always blank.I had to take it off to make my pc working again.
Budget was looking around 70$ if is worth the show.I know is not a gaming machine....but just trying to make it nice until i can change the motherboard and chip.
Intel Pentium 4 2.4 ghz
1gb memory.
Soundblaster Audigy and video card is the onboard.
I can't decide to make it manual. On the bios let u decide just between automatic or the one i have

Sorry, I should have thought of this before!
Boot the PC without the new card, go into the Bios and disable the Onboard Graphics. SAVE and exit. Install the new card and try to boot.
You can also try "Automatic" if you haven't already done so.

It's hard to determine what's decent to you as most modern decent/budget pc's have a cpu that's four times the speed of a pentium 4. Post what games you plan to play with this machine.

Re: Dell gx260 Video Card

I know i can't play anything new and fast but i do like wow and the new Aion. The game ask me for a minimum of nvidia 5900 ir ati radeon x700 both 128. But for best result i should use 256mb for a graphic card.. So what im looking for is a nice 256 mb video card that fit my 4x slot.

Re: Dell gx260 Video Card

You might pull off WoW but Aion requires a minimum pentium 4 2.8 and recommended core 2 duo.

The only way to fit a card in your budget would be to buy a very low end one that wouldn't use a lot of power. Something like a geforce 6200/7300 or ati x1300 would work in the machine.
