Vostro 1000 can't run 3D games without extreme fps drop. Fixed in the past.

Vostro 1000 can't run 3D games without extreme fps drop. Fixed in the past but had to reset my laptop to factory defaults. I updated to the most resent video driver and I know that wasn't what fixed it when I first got it . but its all I can think to do. previously played Spore, Sims3, Sim2, SimCity4 with no problems.

and please don't leave me info like "your laptop can't run those games because it does not meet the min reqiurments" I already know it CAN run them.

And thanks in advance for anyone who even trys to help me .. Ive had this problem for a couple weeks now

Check your cpu usage and close any programs that are hogging resources. Things like fire walls or anti virus programs , messengers ect... Also a good defrag can also improve drive seek time.

Yep.. tried both .. after the system factory default restore I defraged about 3 times and I always check my CPU usage before starting a game. I remember last time "When I first got my laptop" It was a driver thing .. or a .dll thing .. I can't recall One thing I do recall is going thru all this before
