Red line on screen
Hi, I just noticed that on my dell vostro 1000 laptop that there is a vertical red seethrough line that is about two inches wide and it runs from the top of the scrreen to the bottom in the middle. I tried running diagnostics and it didnt show anything and i left it to test for an hour and it turned off while diagnostic tests were running and i tried a few times to turn it on and it wouldnt but after a few mins i tried again and it turned on but the line is still there and it is annoying cuz it interferes

Download and run GPU-Z and watch the GPU temperature.
http://www.techpowerup.com/gpuz/ The GPU temperature should stay below ~70C. If it goes above that, buy a laptop cooler. If it is below that temperature (40-65C) then it's probably a fault with either the graphics card or the screen, in which case you'll have to take it back to either the store or RMA it to the manufacturer under warranty to get it repaired or replaced.
