Voodoo 2 Problems :)

I recently upgraded my computer from a
2100 Athlon XP
MSI KT4AV
512mb DDR 266
Geforce FX5600 128mb

to a

3000 AMD Athlon 64
Asus A8V
512mb Corsair Dual Channel DDR 400
XFX Geforce 6600 GT 128 mb.

I decided to put the old system back together and play some glide only games on it, just for kicks, with my old Voodoo 2's. I get it together and install Windows 98 and all the drivers. Then I install one of the V2 start up and install the drivers, reboot, no problem. Then I install the second, boot up, install the drivers, reboot, no problem. Then I install Half-Life 1. When I try to run it my computer blue screens. Now It will only boot to Safe mode and gives me a windows protection error when I try to start up normally. Even if I remove the voodoo 2's and uninstall the drivers in Safe Mode it won't boot. It did it once and I completely formatted and did another clean install of Windows 98 SE. Either way I'll have to format it again.

Hardware is as follows
MSI KT4AV mainboard
512 mb DDR 266
AMD Athlon 2100+
MSI Geforce FX5600
2X 3dfx Voodoo 1000's in SLI (3dfx branded Vooodoo 2 12mb each)
Samsung 60 gig HD
Hitachi 16x DVD-rom
onboard AC97 sound

I would like to get he Voodoo 2's to work, It may not be possible though.
Thanks
