Radeon 9250 problems
Hello, I have installed a Radeon 9250 pci buss 256 card on my dell optiples gx110 pc. Everthing went fine. Untill... The PC reboots with the monitor plugged into the card. I can access the BIOS even. But unter normal boot the when the OS starts to load to the desk top I loose signal. I then plug the monitor into the intergrated video on the motherboard and it works. Almost like the intregrated part takes over and bypasses the new card. When the desktop comes up I get a message " the ati control panel failed to initialize becauseno sti driver is installed. I am not sure what to do from here.
Any help would be great. mdg66 |

Did you disable the onboard video adapter in the BIOS ? If not then thats more than likely the problem.
If yes - make sure the old drivers are deinstalled before you boot with the new card.

Thanks for the help all of you! My new 256MB video card is up and running. With no problems so far ( knock on wood). Now I just have to figure how to get the max performance out of it. lol.
Thanks again. mdg66 |

Your welcome. Always great when someone comes back and lets you know that whatever you tried to help with/ what you suggested actually worked.
I also like the point system in here - i always donate when someone helped me. Whoever introduced - had a great idea.

If your trying to go for performace and such things you might want to look into overclocking you GPU. ATITool is a great way to do it http://www.techpowerup.com/atitool/
make sure you have enough cooling (heatsinks for your ram and a better GPU cooling unit then the stock one)
