New GFX card

Hello everyone, Ill be getting my dads old PC soon (newer than mine) and need help knowing what to buy videocard wise
It has 2 ghz processor
512 ram but am gonna upgrade to prob a gig or so
XP SP2
It doesnt have PCI-E slots so that limits a lot of things
Now, if I can buy ANYWHERE online besides Ebay, Newegg, and Tigerdirect
(PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE do not ask why! PLEEEEASE!!! SO many people say "OMG THEY ARE ONLY 5$ GET ON EBAY")
What should I get?
Looking to spend Less than $60-$70
Want to be able to play newish games (TF2, CSS, ETC)
Don't need ultra mega gfx and 200 fps
I'd be happy with say, medium to low gfx settings and like 30 fps...
If possible (Probably not)
Also, please dont tell me "Just get a new pc you ***" or anything...
Please, please, please, again, just answer the question at hand.
I've heard too many times on different subjects stupid replies like "Omg, Why cant you buy on E-Bay its cheaper just go kill your dad" and stupid crap like that. Or, "Omg, your gonna spend 100$ on upgrades? Just save up liek 800$ nad goo bye a nwe cmpouter n00b"
Thanks in advance

Re: New GFX card

Well I can easily see why people are commenting on not purchaseing from newegg , tiger , or ebay. There probably just wondering why... Ebay I can see why , but not newegg or tiger unless they don't ship to your location.

Although most people are correct in saying putting even 60$ into this machine is a waste for gaming purposes , since even the best videocard will be limited by what I'm guessing is a pentium 4?

In reality 200$ will get you a proper bare bone upgrade , while saving the old drives , case , possibly power supply. No need to save 800.

But whatever , if you want a card for this machine then post the make and model motherboard or the make and model machine and we will find somthing compatible that will play TF2 and CSS. Can't really guarantee any games past 2005 tho.

Re: New GFX card

Ok...
so, my dad got his new PC today :)
He decided that since I'm only buying a video card, I CAN from tiger direct and new egg.
Still no ebay, but....
I'll be upgradign power supply, vid card, then add some ram later
So, including tiger direct and newegg...
For 50-60$, what should I get?
Looking for a somewhat OK card for gaming,
dont know the mobo though (Sorry)
I didnt think to check, i just checked what slots it had
It had one red agp slot (Not sure the speed, maybe you can tell by color?)
and like 3 open PCI slots.
So choice is PCI or AGP - NOT PCI-E
Thanks again for help and thanks for replying emosun
Just a note, my dad got a bargain PC refurbished dell
6 gb ram, 1.8 ghz CORE 2 DUO processor, built in video accelerator, 500 gb hdd and some other more normal stuff
but he got for only like 489 or so :O Hes lucky :D
And if anyone was thinking of saying "OMG MEN POONS TH@T", dont. just dont.
EDIT : Found some good cards, but they are 64 bit...
Im using 32 bit XP home, so will those cards work?
Thanks

Re: New GFX card

They are talking about the data bus. It means nothing compared to the OS version you use. A 64-bit card, though, is VERY slow.

Re: New GFX card

Is your budget for both the card and power supply 60$? We'll actually need that motherboards make and model before we recommend cards.
