Graphics card problem[MOVED]

HI,
i have formatted my pc with os win98. i have installed all other necessary drives & sofwares,but not able to install the graphics driver,whenever i click the setup,after few steps its shows errors.
on divice manager the display adapter is -- STANDARD PCI GRAPHICS ADAPTER (VGA).
i have tried several setups files but failed to do so.
i have update the windows98 second edition.
the display setting option only shows 16 colours.
Please help me out.

It would tremendously help if you mentioned your specs.
What graphics card are you using?
Which version of Windows are you using? (98, or 98 second edition)
Which driver are you installing?
What is the exact error message?

Thanks for response
i m using windows 98 Second edition.
STANDARD PCI GRAPHICS ADAPTER (VGA) is showing in display adapter.
i was trying to install another driver (intel graphics)from another pc.
when ever i click setup file,it shows a massage -- file not found,cannot install etc.

Do you know what graphics card you have? (Intel, NVidia, ATI? which model?)
If you don't know, do you know what the make and model of the computer is? If it was custom built, what's the make and model of the motherboard?

On an older machine like this you can just open it up and read on the gpu what card it's using. Back in the day there must have been hundreds of pci video cards and I don't think with windows 98 it will be able to identify which it's using.
