Power Supply question

im planning on replacing my video card, and i was looking around and found this

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814130297

looks like a very good deal, but can my PSU handle it

my psu is a terrible one: Orion XP400 it says 420W but thats all i know

so would my psu be able to handle that graphics card or is it too much?

Never heard of that psu brand but it should be enough, if you experience crashes or any sorts of slowdowns you will have your answer

Re: Power Supply question

I understand where you are coming from and gave you the best advice on what you need, not taking into account anything else.

However, I must tell you that it is doubtful that power supply can handle that card for very long if at all. It however, might work for a while, so what can you lose by trying it? Do let us know the results of what happens. Enjoy the rest of your weekend.

BTW, if you do try it and see any signs of difficulty, then use a less powerful card until you can get a decent power supply of the needed wattage.

Thanks a ton, youve been a real help

Ill order it and see how it goes

and just switch back to this gfx card if it doesnt work so well, if the bad power supply broke would it damage anything else in my pc?

Re: Power Supply question

Unfortunately, that is a chance you take because it can do that. Just don't push it too hard and certainly don't try to overclock any until you get a better supply in there. Like mentioned earlier, we don't recommend using a psu like that with the video card you want to use it with, but that has to be your choice.
