Ubyte4n vertex data

I have a Dell Vostro 1500
Intel (R) Core (TM) 2Duo CPU
T5270@1.40 GHz
1.40GHz 1.99 GB of ram
Plug and Play Monitor Intel (R) 965 Express Chipset Family
Just loaded COD4 and got the message it seems lots of people are getting video card or drivers won't work. Can the game be run on this machine and what do I need to do it? Thanks for any help.

Re: Ubyte4n vertex data

Hello,

Integrated Intel graphics probably don't meet the minimum requirements for the game.

Not much you can really do.

Make sure using the latest video driver and latest directX.

Re: Ubyte4n vertex data

That chipset can handle older 3D games but not much else.

Re: Ubyte4n vertex data

The Intel Series 4 chipset does not support shader model 2.0b, and thus is incapable of playing the game no matter what. If it did manage to play the game it would play it on ultra-low settings with a terrible framerate. In order to play COD4 you'll need a new graphics card, and if this was a prebuilt machine then you'll also need a new power supply, which comes to a *minimum* cost of $120 for medium quality graphics, up to $200-300 for ultra high quality.
