PowerDvd 9 does not play mpeg-4 files
I've just loaded powerdvd 9 onto my wife's laptop, which runs on Vista. It plays regular dvd's but not mpeg-4 files. All I get is blackness and wavy lines. I'm assuming it could be a video card problem but am unsure.
Interestingly, I have powerdvd 8 loaded on my pc, which runs on XP, and am able to play mpeg-4 files. So now I'm wondering if this is a Vista-related problem??? It seems to me that because mpeg-4's are so common, that the video card shouldn't matter that much. Has anyone else encountered this issue (with PowerDvd specifically, or other media software on Vista)? Cyberlink support has proved to be a real headache so far, so I'd appreciate any feedback. Thanks. |
