(Maybe a dumb) question re: GTX 285
Hi...I'm another "never-been-here-but-I-have-a-question-so-here-I-am" user. Sorry for it. Hoping someone can help me with what I think is probably a stunningly simple question.
I have a new machine arriving on Monday, and the video card is Nvidia GTX 285 (http://www.nvidia.com/object/product...tx_285_us.html). As the spec sheet indicates, Standard Display Connectors: HDTV; Two Dual Link DVI HDCP*: yes HDMI*: Via adapter Audio Input for HDMI: SPDIF I broke the bank on this new machine, and my old Sony monitor has gone the way of the Dodo bird....so my lovely lady is helping me with a new one, an LG W2361VG-PF (http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage....=1218072894682). This features no DVI cable, as many people have complained, and only includes a D-Sub cable. I have read and tried to understand the whole DVI HDMI HDCP etc etc etc thing...but I just am unsure. The specs indicate VGA Input: Yes DVI-D Input: No DVI-D with HDCP Input: Yes HDMI Input: Yes I'm sorry for such an audaciously stupid question, but, what do I need in terms of cable or adapter? And if there are multiple options, does anyone from a graphic designers standpoint have any feedback? (I'll be using this machine primarily for photo and video editing- Photoshop/Illustrator/InDesign/FinalCutPro/Premiere- but also do a moderate bit of gaming- Crysis, WoW). I'd appreciate whatever answers/feedback anyone could give me. Thank you for your time. |

Re: (Maybe a dumb) question re: GTX 285
Aw c'mon...13 people have looked and no one will respond? I know its an annoying, dumb question, but please, can't anyone help me out? The people at bestbuy here are completely clueless. I don't know anyone else to ask. I'd really appreciate the help.

Re: (Maybe a dumb) question re: GTX 285
It has a VGA input, so all you need is a DVI-VGA converter. You can get them at Radioshack for like $15, but you can buy them for $4 at newegg: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814998101
