Re: CCC has encountered a problem
What exactly is the problem? An error window popping up saying "ATI Catalyst Control Center has encountered a problem and needs to close."?
Try uninstalling the CCC completely and installing the new version again. If that doesn't work uninstall all ATI video card drivers and the CCC, then use DriverSweeper http://downloads.guru3d.com/Guru3D--...%29_d1655.html to clean up any remnants, then install the latest drivers. Let us know how that goes.

Re: CCC has encountered a problem
NO. Don't remove chipset drivers, haha, that'll cause a lot of problems. Seriously, don't do that.
Just to make sure, were you using the correct version? Are you on 32-bit or 64-bit XP? Make sure to get the right driver.

Re: CCC has encountered a problem
No, reinstalling the chipset drivers probably wouldn't help, those are for your motherboard.
I'll let one of the other techs take it from here, I'm not good with drivers.

Re: CCC has encountered a problem
Ive been seeing this problem pop up on several forums recently. Anything from what you experienced to the CCC Control Center not opening at all. I has the same problem with a 3650ATI card that I use in my shop PC. I had an Acronis image from a few days earlier so I used that to get my older drivers back.
If you're referring to the ATI chipset drivers, yes uninstall them also.

I am tired of going thru this every time I update the drivers. I think I might go to nvidia.....unless there is another way? If you guys suggest i try nvidia what would be a good card for the specs i have?

Re: CCC has encountered a problem
Sorry. Have you tried rolling back to a previous driver/CCC version? The new one seems to be having a lot of problems.
