ATI Catalyst (2005 C++ Redistributable error)
I have an ATI 4850 and when trying to download the latest catalyst drivers I would get an error saying that it failed installing the 2005 C++ redistributable thing. Anyway the fix I found was to go into my add and remove programs and delete every version of the c++ package and then reinstall the x86 version. After I did that the catalyst driver installed just fine and I haven't had any problems yet.
I can't find spell check sorry guys! I'm running Vista64 Home version. |

Re: ATI Catalyst (2005 C++ Redistributable error)
Had a similar problem, installing the drivers for my 4870 from the provided CD the install would lock up while installing 2005 Visual C++ Redistributable, it would stay at about 30% even if I went away for an hour. For me going to ATI's site and downloading the drivers there worked. I was on Vista Home Premium SP1 x64 at the time as well.
