Random Colour Screen Crash (game)
Okay, here goes. I think this is the correct section for my question.
Basically, when i play newer games (such as UT3, Warhammer online, etc.) My computer just simply crashes after around 10-30 minutes of play, the last half second of sound is looped and the screen turns a random colour (i have found no relation to the colour of the screen and whats happening at the time) Now, this is a problem for me because i want to play these games, it never occurs in World of Warcraft, It happened once in TF2, but hasnt since, and doesn't occur in CS:S. My drivers for my video card are installed from the disk, same with my motherboard drivers. My system spec is: Motherboard : Gigabyte GA-MA790XT-UD4P Processor: AMD Phenom II X3 720 (3 CPUs) ~2.8GHz Memory: 6144MB RAM DirectX Version: DirectX 11 Graphics Card: ATI Radeon HD 4850 Power Supply: OCZ StealthXStream 700W Anyone who can help, i will be extremely appreciative. Thank you in advance - Tp199

Re: Random Colour Screen Crash (game)
Download GPU-Z: http://www.techpowerup.com/gpuz/
And monitor your temperatures both on the desktop and during games and tell us how hot it gets.

Re: Random Colour Screen Crash (game)
Download Prime95 (link in sig) and run blend test for 6 hours. If there are any errors then it could be your RAM.
Don't think it'll be your motherboard support for your CPU cause your comp probably wouldn't boot if that was the case.

Re: Random Colour Screen Crash (game)
Firstly, take out half that ram, as it is a complete waste for a 32 bit OS and could actually be causing some issues.
Secondly, update the bios to properly support the CPU as it isn't simpy a case of 'it wont boot'. Instructions on how to do this are found where you downloaded the bios (e.g. gigabyte website). Thirdly, update the game patches.
