I just got my new graphics card, NVIDIA GEFORCE 9400GT 1GB DDR2 PCI-E 2.0
and it isn't working. Exact steps I took: I turned off my computer. Then I booted back up into safe mode and disabled my onboard video. Then, I turned off my computer and put in my 9400GT. Plugged my monitor to the 9400GT and turned my computer back on. My monitor displays "No Signal" Since my monitor wouldn't display with the 9400GT, I plugged it back in to the onboard and my monitor got signal. And that's as far as I've gotten... I don't know what's going on here ![]() My computer specs: http://support.gateway.com/s/PC/R/5876/5876sp3.shtml |

Re: PLEASE Help Me With My Graphics Card :/
This could be one of two problems; either the 9400GT is broken, or the power supply isn't delivering enough power to run the 9400GT. I would go to any friends who might have computers with more powerful PSUs (400w and up) and see if their computers can successfully run the card. Alternately go to a local computer shop and see if they'd be willing to hook up one of their PSUs for you to test with in the store. Try schmoozing a little, get buddies with the techs before asking, so they'll be less likely to charge you for the service.
If the card is broken you can RMA it for a new one, it should take 3-6 days. If the power supply isn't powerful enough then you'll need a new one, I think this is probably a good fit for you if you're on a tight budget: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16817151039 If you want something a little more future proof, get this: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16817139004

Re: PLEASE Help Me With My Graphics Card :/
You may also have to go into the bios and set the graphics priority. Might have options like onboard, onboard unless card installed, pci, pci-e (may be listed as peg).
