Recently Bought Radeon 9200 Stops Computer Powering On After Hardware Installation
i 2 anthalon 1.8 ish gig processor computers relativly new motherbaords but both have the same problem when i insert the radeon 9200 card into the agp, they both wont power up, the card seems to be fine as i tested it on an older computer which turned on etc and recognised the card, i was thinking it was somthing to do with the bios but if the computer is not powering up it must be somthing to to with the hrdware, maybe an incxompatible motherboard? ... grrr

Hi,
I am thinking it has something to do with the AGP area. If the card is 8X agp, then the voltage won't let it work if put in a board that is only 2x agp. You need to check your computer to see what the specs are so you know if the agp voltages are compatible. Note: They also make a pci 9200 if my memory is correct (don't hold me to this), so make sure it is an actual agp card. Last edited by mark3567 : 02-20-2005 at 09:44 AM. |
