Would a busted card cause the system to physically not boot?
Seems like a novice question, and it is.
Basically, if I wiggled the monitor input on the video card's port, it would boot up if I held it in the right spot. When I moved, it would stop. Now, it just doesn't start at all. I'm assuming it's the card, but I'd like some confirmation before I buy a new one. Edit: I wasn't clear before I think. When I say it doesn't boot, I mean none of the lights light up at all. I figured without a video card the thing would still get power, but it doesn't seem likely. Last edited by Fewmitz; 07-09-2009 at 08:57 PM. |

Re: Would a busted card cause the system to physically not boot?
The card is seated fine. It's the port where you plug the monitor in that's loose, that I can't get right.
The motherboard and all over power connectors are fine. The card was having problems before this, so my question is literally "Will having no video card cause the system to not power up" 4870 X2 Core i7 920 MSI Eclipse X58 4 gigs 2x2gig (removed a broken DIMM) GSKIL DDR3 1333 PC Power and Cooling Silencer 750W |
