Windows Vista Red tint Problem!

Hey guys. Well, one morning i turned on my computer and everything was fine. an hour later i turn off my computer because i went to pick up my HDMI cable for the ps3 that i had ordered. I remove the AV cable from the back of my Samsung LCD TV model: LA19R71B that also supports a PC cable, so i can use my LCD TV as a PC monitor, TV, and play games on the ps3 while using the HDMI mode (and yes my TV supports resolution up to 1080i). So, as i mentioned before, i remove the AV cable from the back of my ps3 and the LCD TV and plugin the HDMI cable. I start up the ps3 and tun on my tv and everything seems to wrok perfectly, i play around with the settings for a while and have a shot at cod4 immersing myself in the new 720p resolution. about 2 hours later I turn off my ps3 and turn on my computer only to find a redish tint to it. I havent tweaked the color options at all, and all the cables r securely fastened. Im running my Acer Aspire m1021 on windows vista home premium. The odd thing is that the colors r perfect when i switch to HDMI mode, but i just cant get rid of the red tint on my screen when i switch my LCD tv to PC mode. I really dont know what is causing this problem! I tried restoring my computer, but had no luck at all. I tried running oblivion on my PC and even the main menu colors have a red tint to it. everything that is displayed on my tv while on pc mode has a redish tint to it! Plz i need help. BTW my computer is less than a year old and my TV is almost 2 years old. My computer didnt display any error messages, and i didnt smell anything burning/frying nor did i heard any sound indicating me to the problem. Plz Help me!

What kind of cable do you have the TV connected to the PC with? Is it a DVI cable or a
VGA
cable?

Re: Windows Vista Red tint Problem!

Hey guys. ok, just turned on my computer and now it has a greenish tint to it. im not sure what cable is connected from my tv to the computer but it is black and matches correctly with the port that is on my computer and the port that is on my tv which reads PC IN. the cable has 2 screws so u tighten them so it locks in place correctly on the back of the computer and on the back of my tv. it says FTI cable on the cable. so im not sure. i have used this ever since i got it and problems like these havent persisted.

Re: Windows Vista Red tint Problem!

how do i set it to 1080 resolution? i have ATI catalyst control center on my computer where u can adjust monitor settings, colors etc... but all of them r default ´so its not caused by them. do u know the loading screen for windows vista when u start the computer where it says "Microsoft Corporation" and has that loading bar where the green things move well even the background on that is red. im srry for saying it was greenish its still redish nothing has changed. in the ATI catalyst control center it says this about my monitor:

1. ATI Radeon 2100 (Samsung LCD)
2. Display Data Channel: Supported
3. Display Name: Samsung LCD
4. Maximum Reported Resolution: 1920 X 1080
5. Maximum Reported Refresh Rate: 75 Hz

Monitor Attributes:

1. Use extended Display indentification data (EDID) or driver defaults (i can uncheck or check this 1)
2. Maximum resolution (it has a drop down menu, which 1 do i select) i have it set at 1920x1080, i just changed it.
3. Maximum refresh rate: (drop down menu) i have it set at 75 Hz.

Then if i go to display properties:

desktop area: 1440x900, this is the biggest resolution.
Color quality: high (32 bit), i can change it to medium (16 bit)
refresh rate: 60 Hz which is the only 1.
Then it has an option to force the desktop area (1440x900 is the biggest), color quality (32 bit is highest), refresh rate (highest is 75 Hz, i tried changing it to 75 Hz but everything became big)
i tried installing newest drivers for my monitor and my ati radeon 2100 integrated card but they were the newest ones.
i dont know what to do. what is causing this problem?

Re: Windows Vista Red tint Problem!

you follow the guide on 27 to setup

Navigate to the "Settings" tab on the display dialog-box.
The correct size setting (resolution):
Optimum- 1440 X 900
If a vertical-frequency option exists on your display settings dialog box, the correct value is
"60" or "60 Hz". Otherwise, just click "OK" and exit the dialog box.
Setting up Your PC Software (Based on Windows XP)
Display

Re: Windows Vista Red tint Problem!

i have it set at 1440x900
screen refresh rate: 60 Hz
Color: 32 Bit
Could it be something with my power supply? i dont have the tv plugged into the wall, its plugged into 1 of those connectors. u know the 1 that u plug in and u get 2-5 extra power slots. thats where i have it plugged in. when i open my ATI catalyst control center, i navigate to Color, and then to "Set Color Correction For" all channels. it shows a white line going straight diognally from bottom left corner to the top right corner. so i dont know. could it be caused by my integrated graphics card? do u think this problem is the result of using the HDMI cable? thx for the quick reply XD

well went to amd.com and downloaded latest drivers but didnt help. can the theme settings/color adjustment change automatically? anymore ideas? should i try connecting my tv power directly to the wall or is it fine conected to the connector? im running out of ideas. do u think the vga cable could be damaged? Or is my tv hardware failing (most likely not) maybe the pc or cable port is damaged.
