Why is my monitor blinking!?!?!?
Ok, after I installed this 9.6 driver for my Radeon HD 4870 for windows vista 32bit my monitor would start blinking for like 5 or 15 seconds before utterly returning to normal. It happens every time when I leave my computer off for more than 5 minutes. I turn it on, its blinking, then returns to normal at about the login screen for vista. WHen it blinks i can still see the screen fine it is not black, but it is disturbing. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the drivers and I've even did a new clean vista ultimate reinstall. Didn't work. Only thing I haven't tried is taking the video card out and putting it back in (lol).
Never had this problem with past drivers 9.5 and under for this card. Is this a known issue? It isn't too serious since it returns to normal, but its troubling me. I don't want to turn the comp on one day and have it keep blinking without it returning to normal. Because that would suck hard. My system specs are: Windows vista 32bit Service pack 2 Processor: Pentium 4 3.40ghz Memory(ram) 3.0gigs Graphics card: Radeon HD 4870 Power supply: Antec 850w Motherboard: D915PBL Intel board. Monitor : SyncMaster 2232BWplus Samsung. I realize the motherboard is old... But Keep in mind I've never ever had a problem like this before. I haven't done anything out of the ordinary on this thing but install the 9.6 latest driver. Is there a fix? Is this a problem on my end or was this a bad release? |
