Dell Dimension 3000

Hi I am having some problems with a computer I got from a friend, when I first got it I had problems hooking up the monitor, there was a loose connection, I took it to Altex and they told me to get a video card and bypass the original connection. The computer sat for a few months and I finally did this, now when I turn the computer on there is a series of beeps and the monitor turns off, is there anyone who can help me?

It would help to know what card you put in it. You may just have to change a bios setting to accept cards from whatever slot it's in.

it is a visiontek radeon 9250, but remember I have a blank monitor so anything I have to do with that is not an option for me

Have you tried pluging it into the onboard and changing the bios settings to accept either agp or pci videocards?
