How do I update my graphics card?

I think an update might help because when I tried to play The Sims 3, an error popped up saying it did not have pixel shader or something like that. I'm not sure where to find the name of it from my computer.

It's a smart GPU indentifier and it will tell all the things you need to know about it.

Post the make and model pc and it's specs.

That error message occurred with my desktop and I'm not using that anymore.

But I do want to know if an update to my graphics card will make my games run faster.

My laptop:

Toshiba Satellite M45 S169
XP SP3
Intel Celeron Processor M Processor 1.60 GHz
1 GB RAM
ATI Radeon Xpress 200m Series

You'd be better off buying a new desktop PC with a Dual or quad core and a nice ati radion 4 series card. I don't think that laptop could use any upgrades now.
