can the nvidia geforce 9800gtx turbocache???

recently i went to a system requirements lab to chack if my computer can support crysis. the geforce 9800 gtx has a memory of 512mb, crysis's recommended memory is 640mb. the problem is that my friend, who's computer graphics card is relative more obsolete than mine, passes and exceeds the video card recommendation and he has an nvidia geforce 9400 gt. it also says his memory for the card is 1.7GB that to me is unfathomable unless he is turbocaching right???? anyway i would appreciate if someone cleared this up for me and also if at all possible tell me how to turbocache my 9800gtx... please and thank you

You don't actually need 640mb of vram to play crysis. That was Crytek's way of promoting the now obsolete first gen 8800's. The first gens had 320 , 640 , and 768mb models.

if you have 2+ Gig RAM and a Core 2 Duo with the 9800 GT you will be able to play Crysis on high settings and 512 Vram is more than enough
