random texture swaps and lock ups
Pretty much randomly while I'm playing any game, most the textures get swapped around and the ui/hud get messed up as well. I also get random computer lock ups while playing and when I'm restarting my comp at the windows load screen. what could cause this to happen? I've also attached pretty much all the info you need for my comp in a text file

Re: random texture swaps and lock ups
Well, a very important piece of info that isn't in the dxdiag is the psu. You need to take the side cover off and look at the label for the make and model, as well as the output, in amps, for the +3.3, +5, and +12volt rail(s). Check your bios for the actual values for those rails, it'll be under hardware monitoring or pc health, usually in the power section. Get your temperatures at the same time, it's in the same place. I'm thinking power or heat, at this time. Use gpu-z to check your graphics card temp in the sensors tab.

Re: random texture swaps and lock ups
70C. for a load temp isn't too bad at all.
What drivers are you using, and have you tried different ones?

Re: random texture swaps and lock ups
Silverstone is a good psu brand, though the available amps are more suited to a 550watt power supply. The power distribution amongst the rails is a bit odd too. What did the bios give for temperatures and voltages?
Also see if you can borrow another video card to try, and/or try yours in another computer. Would be nice to rule out the card, though that could certainly be it.

Re: random texture swaps and lock ups
The voltages look ok, +3.3 and +12 are pretty much bang on. The +5 is half way to the spec limit, but should be fine too. Your temps are a bit warm though, 52C. at idle isn't where I'd like to be, still not a dangerous temperature unless it takes a huge spike when stressed.
Have you tried an older driver, I use the old fallback 178.24's on occasion, it seems a very stable nVidia driver. Have heard of problems with the 185.x's. Another thing to try is to clean the old drivers after uninstalling them. Try this method. Download and install driversweeper from Guru3d, but do not run it yet. http://www.guru3d.com/category/driversweeper/ Uninstall current drivers Reboot computer, tapping F8 for boot selection menu, and then go into vga mode, or safe mode if not available. Disable your antivirus. Run driversweeper and clean the nVidia display driver remnants. Install drivers. Reboot into normal mode, and turn your antivirus back on. Sometimes with driver problems, that extra step of cleaning the leftovers makes all the difference.

Re: random texture swaps and lock ups
ahh the 52C wasn't really idle i waited about 15min before i wrote down the temps, its usually quiet a bit cooler. also you think this driver downgrade will fix the lock ups when on the windows load screen too?

Re: random texture swaps and lock ups
It's one of those "worth a shot" things, that driver version is known as one of the more stable releases. Still thinking you need to try the card in another computer, or try another card in yours.
About the only other thing I can think of is .Net Framework 2.0, try installing that before the driver install. http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/d...displaylang=en
