9800 gt fitting question
Im looking at getting this video card,
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814130435 and i was wondering if it would fit into this gateway case, http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16883113087. I have heard that the card is kinda long but i kind have my mind set on this one due to EVGA's reputation. Will it fit, and if not can you guys give some recommendations. Thanks~Baird |

Fitting question
I was wondering if the XFX 4850, would fit onto my motherboard in my current gateway computer,
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16883113087 The dimensions on the card are 9x4.5x1.5. Will it fit over the ram slots or should i look for something else. If it wont fit can anyone suggest something in that price range. Thanks ~Baird |

Re: 9800 gt fitting question
I wouldn't put anything high end like that in that oem gateway case without some modding. Add a couple of 120mm fans to that side panel vent.
But you should also note. That gateway uses an on board ati gpu which mean you will be wanting to use an ati video card and not nvidia. The nvidia card software and hardware can conflict with the on board ati gpu. You also need a better power supply and cannot use the stock gateway one. Post your budget for the power supply and video card.

Re: 9800 gt fitting question
I plan on getting a new corsair psu and the 4850, the case actually runs really cool as is now, i was just wondering if it would clear the ram slots.
