[SOLVED] New video card shows artifacts

Hi,
I just installed my new xfx 4850 and after turning it on it shows artifacts. Is there a problem with the new video card??

Its a HP Pavillion m7750n
AMD Athlon 64 X2 5000+

Everything is still the same except that i put a new psu, which is a corsair 550w.

I downloaded the app. and tried it again but, I cant even boot up. It just keep going to BSOD after booting it up... I guess it is the gpu????

can you get into safe mode to turn the auto reboot off

turn off the auto reboot
control panel /system/advanced/startup and recovery settings
then untick the auto reboot box
post any bsod error messages the computer freezes on in full

what video were you using before

Im using the old graphic card now and everything is fine ... do i still need to try it on other PC?? The other computer in my house only have 350w and i dont want to risk it.

what are you running
video card
cpu
m/board
ram
power supply
brand
wattage

check the listings in the bios for voltages and temperatures and post them

Processor : AMD Athlon 64 X2 5000+ @ 2600 MHz
Physical Memory : 2048 MB (2 x 1024 DDR2-SDRAM )
Video Card : NVIDIA GeForce 8400 GS
DirectX : Version 10.00
PSU: Corsair VX550W

P.S. Im using the old gpu

the new card looks suspect did you clean the nvidia drivers from the system before installing the ati

I removed the old nvidia driver before installing the ati driver.

the psu should run it provided it is not o/clocked
i would be running a 650w with it
