Monitor doesn't work with Graphics Card.
Hello, I was having a problem with my graphics card and monitor since yesterday. For some odd reason while I was on the computer, gaming, as usual my computer just restarts on me. After booting it up I found that the monitor doesn't even have a signal anymore. The computer works fine, I can hear the desktop sound. I plug my monitor into the motherboard and it shows up fine. So then I tried dusting out my computer, tried it with my graphics card once again. I made it to the desktop then randomly again restarts and now it doesn't show up after I reboot. So I took out my graphics card to give it a dust off, but that didn't work. My monitor uses a VGA adapter and my graphics card uses a DVI port, so I'm using a VGA converter to DVI adapter. May anyone help me with this :(? Thank you very much for your support.
My monitor also works fine with my laptop and motherboard. The fan on the graphics card is also still working. The concerns I have is that : 1. Is my graphics card broken? 2. Is it my converter that is broken? 3. Did I mishandle anything when I took out the graphics card to dust it off? |

Re: Monitor doesn't work with Graphics Card.
Check that the dvi to vga converter is firmly attached-you could also try reseating the adapter. Make sure that the screws connecting the adapter to the vga cable and to the vga port are securely tightened ( finger tight only - do not use a tool).
i know this sounds obvious but chieck it anyway. |

Re: Monitor doesn't work with Graphics Card.
if you are running the core 2 i would think your system would be pcie
you need to be up here at a min power for the 1900xt http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...air%2b550w if it is a 1900xtx card then here http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...corsair%2b650w the 430w is of very low quality the efficiency rating is only 65%

I had a friend come over and checked and he said it is probably the motherboard and the graphics card because when I checked the display settings or display adapter, it doesn't even show my graphics card. Is it because my monitor isn't plug into the graphics card? |

take the card out and reinstall it making sure it is seated
