4GB of ram nvidia G100 graphic card with all the driver i need... yesterday i was playing prototype on my PC 5 min into the game it just froze. i pressed windows key than the start menu poped up so than i closed the game than my pc just froze. i had to force it to shut down by holding the power button. than when i rebooted it, it was stuck at the loading screen. after a few restarts i finally got on. than i was playing combat arms. like 5 minutes into the game it froze again.... i am sure i meet the recommanded requirments of the game. i dont know why is freezing. It only happens when i am playing a game. My pc is only 1 month old, i bought it with vista. it kept on getting stuck so i had to force it to shut down a few times. i coundn't play games on it. so than i switched to xp pro. the same problem is still there. please help.... |

Try this one for GPUz
http://www.softpedia.com/progDownloa...oad-85523.html Leave Both running in the background and check after playing awhile until it freezes. |

Re: Pc lockup during games
They look good, lets see if we can get some voltage readings 12v, 5v, & 3.3v.
Not sure what sensors your motherboard has so lets try Sensor View to start`it's a trial version> http://www.stvsoft.com/index.php?opt...d=17&Itemid=33 |

Re: Pc lockup during games
i just found out that it doesn't only freeze when i am playing game...
it is not as bad as when it freezes while i am playing a game. i can only shut down by holding the power button... than it gets stuck at the loading screen i can only log on after a few reboots... my mouse still moves... |

Re: Pc lockup during games
Most likely the motherboard doesn't have sensors some OEM boards do some do not.
I think the next step would be to test the ram using memtest burn it to a cd and boot from it, let it run for at least an hour or until you see errors which ever occurs first> http://www.memtest.org/#downiso |

Re: Pc lockup during games
memory test? i dont think my mem have any problems... i will test it anyways
the problem started to happens when i force the pc to shut down by holding the power button... than when it reboots for vista it gets stuck at a black screen i have to restarted a serval times to get it to work. xp gets stuck at the loading screen. could the forcing PC shut down thing damaged some parts of it? i changed the vista to xp but the problem still occurs... could it be the harddrive? |

Re: Pc lockup during games
Hard drive is a possibility, I had similar things happen after a power failure. Ran chkdsk /r and was fine again, though chkdsk isn't recommended too often.

Re: Pc lockup during games
There's many. Ram, hard drive, power supply, video card. Computer components all have to work together, a fault in one part can cause symptoms to show in another.

Re: Pc lockup during games
Run the hard drive test using Seatools for DOS , It's a Seagate diagnostic tool that will work on most brand name drives.> http://www.seagate.com/www/en-us/sup...loads/seatools
