[SOLVED] Very Odd Graphics Messing Up with Geforce 8800 GT

Hello everyone!

For the past week I have been having some weird problems and I am pretty sure it is my graphics card. When playing video games the textures will normally go whack to the point where I am now not able to play even video games which are very light graphically. I have had no problems with my video card which I have owned for over a year now. A GeForce 8800 GT should not have any problems whatsoever playing the games I currently own. I assumed it could be an over-heating problem however right when I started it up I started getting problems. Now sometimes on my screen I get little color glitches randomly. My video card driver is completely up-to-date.

I am wondering if buying a second video card could help lessen the stress on this one? I don't really know how that works however.

I at first thought it might be a power supply problem however my power supply is 750 watts and I have not installed anything new since my new video card.

Any help would be much appreciated. If you need anymore information just tell me and I will get it to you as quick as possible.

Thanks,

Jeffrey

EDIT: Just after I posted this my screen went absolutely berserk. The screen blacked out, then different colors just appeared completely on the screen for about 30 seconds. Then went back to normal. It is almost like my computer is unstable.

Post the make and model of the 750w. 750 is really overkill for only an 8800 which makes me suspect that it's not a very good 750w. Also , post your gpu temps under load.

Re: Very Odd Graphics Messing Up with Geforce 8800 GT

Well I just rolled back my driver and now its been working fine for the past 45 minutes or so. Maybe the new driver installed wrong?

Thanks for the help though and if the problem comes back up then I will post those.

Thanks,

Jeffrey
