X1950 PRO support...
I'm using an X 1950 Pro 512mb, and using 500w power. If i upgrade from 2 x 512 400mhz, to 2 x 1G 667mhz will I benefit for slight performance in gaming. In support of the video card.

Re: X1950 PRO support...
Yes, but a slight gain, depends on the game would be my guess. Running the Crysis Demo benchmark on one of my machines, using 800Mhz ddr2 ram, the avg. frame rate was 44.54 with 1GB and 45.73 with 2GB. Not a whole pile of difference, but some.

Re: X1950 PRO support...
The jump from 400Mhz to 667 will make a difference too. As long as your board supports 667, and works with the stick that you get. Before you purchase new ram, check with one of the memory configurators to make sure you have a specific ram model that will run with your specific motherboard or system.
If you put your model number into a ram manufacturer's memory configurator, it will give you the ram that is guaranteed compatible. Here's a few of them. Crucial - http://www.crucial.com/ they also have a "scan my system" option. Corsair - http://www.corsair.com/configurator/default.aspx OCZ - http://conf.ocztechnology.com/index.php?c=1 Patriot - http://www.patriotmem.com/configurator/index.jsp Geil - http://www.geil.com.tw/home Kingston - http://www.kingston.com/ g.skill - http://newgskill.web-bi.net/bbs/G_SK...for_Memory.php And then Newegg has it's own memory configurator where you put in the make and model and it shows which ram they sell will work. It's on the left side of the screen there. http://www.newegg.com/Store/Category...17&name=Memory The lists of ram that come up aren't all inclusive. There are other ram kits that work, but these are the ones that are known and guaranteed to work. For the speed increase, using the crysis demo benchmark again, I ran at both 667 and 800Mhz. Using 2GB, there was about a 1.5fps increase between the two speeds. So, with more faster ram, you should get a few frames increase.
