Heard a snap and monitor when black
The answer is in front of me but can't see it. Wife said, I smelled smoke and turned it off. I found the video card burned and put a msi geforce ti4200vtd8x in...I know over kill. Evrything work fine untill it got hot. I hear a snap and it goes black. Tried to restart with no luck. It will spin-up the hdd,cpu fan, video fan,and psu,but the monitor says no signal. This tower has fic vc11,p4 1.8/768mb crucial/80gig western digital/raidmax 350 watt/repaced ati pro 64mb with the ti4200. I put the ti4200 in another tower with 3.0 agp8x and it works well. The fic is 4x 2.0 but card supports it. Next I swapped asus p4b-mx with fic board. P4b has its own cpu p4 1.6. I put ti4200 and memory in asus...hit start... and it does same thing...everything spins up....monitor says no signal. So I've ck. video, cpu and memory...and motherboard. O-ya dropped evrything but video,hdd...stripped down to test. So I set fic vc11 back in the tower and put a p4 1.4 in place of the p4 1.8 ...making sure it's not blown. I've never lost a video card before....so this is new. Is everything pointing to the PSU? Don't have extra to check with. Sorry about the lenght of post I am brain dead here. Thanks for the help
