[SOLVED] problems with ati 4890 on asus pn5-e sli motherboard

right i upgraded my gtx8800 to a ati 4890 just over a week ago and for the first few days everything was going great but then in the middle of a game the fan on the 4890 would start flying and the computer would get stuck and i would have to restart.now the computer wont start at all.as soon as i power up the ati 4890 fan gos crazy and im just stcuk on a black screen.ive tryed updating the bios to the lastest version but the same thing happens, the fan gos crazy and the computer does not boot into windows.so ive reverted back to my gtx 8800 for now.could the problem be that the asus pn5-e mobo just cant handle this card thats the only thing i can think is something to do with the power.my psu is 7oow.ive also had to do a full reinstall of vista 64 bit.appreciate any suggetions to try and solve this problem but im gussing a new motherboard if i want to make this card work.

List all hardware specs, including the brand of the power supply.
What were your temps like with the ati, and what are they now with
the nvidia?
How old is the power supply?

The power supply is junk. $20.00 piece of scrap. You really need to look
at a quality psu to run high end systems. Like a corsair or seasonic.
A cheap psu could kill your whole system, as in fried, not worth risk,
imo.

Yea that power supply is a door stop. You can't power an expensive card with a cheap power supply. Theres a reason it's cheap.
