Radeon HD 4890 Problem with monitor

Ok, so today i bought a new Radeon HD4890 Video card made by Connect3D.
The installation of the video card went pretty well and the computer started normally. It went into VGA as my Windows Vista was starting. I put the DVD Driver disk in and installed the whole package for the card and though of updating the drivers later. I put the resolution to 1680x1050 to check f everything was ok and I rebooted the computer. As it was booting it was all going fine as it went into the windows loading bar. When that passed i then expected to see the Windows Vista Login sign but here is where things went bad. The monitor said it had lost connection and as i could hear the vista login sound coming from my speakers the screen turned black. I could hear the computer is still working fine and dandy but there was just no display. I figured it must be drivers so i booted to safe mode which worked fine and uninstalled the drivers from Device Manager.I then rebooted normally and everything was the same as i first turned the computer on with the new HD 4890. This time i downloaded the newest drivers from the official site http://game.amd.com/us-en/drivers_ca...common-vista32 and installed them without a problem. I rebooted the computer and the same thing happens. The loading bar appears but nothing after it as there is no connection to the monitor. So i uninstalled them and installed them one last time to be sure but this time i hooked up an HDMI cable to my TV which is 32'' and Windows Vista booted absolutely fine on the TV but not on the monitor. The drivers are installed correctly, only thing is the monitor loses connection to the video card. Why is that?

My specs are:

I have an Asus P5KC Motherboard with an Intel DualCore E8200 @ 2.66GHz.I have 2 GB of RAM and my computer is a Windows Vista Service Pack One 32-bit.

My monitor is an Asus 22'' MW221.
My TV is a JVC 32''.

Any help would be greatly appreciated as it is quite hard for me to work on a 32"" TV.

Edit: My old video card was a GeForce 8800 GT by XFX.

Re: Radeon HD 4890 Problem with monitor

Hello and Welcome to TSF,

First, did you uninstall the 880GT video driver through add/remove
and remove the folder from C: drive?

Second, after you installed the driver for the ATI card, needed to reboot pc
before playing with any adjustments.

Vista Service Pack One 32-bit
Asus P5KC Motherboard
Intel DualCore E8200 @ 2.66GHz
2 GB of RAM

PSU - name and brand? (may have to open the tower for the info)

Re: Radeon HD 4890 Problem with monitor

My PSU is a Hiper 880W and is quite new. It shouldn't be the problem, its working great. Anyway, I changed the connecting cable to the MW22 from a DVI to a VGA one and it worked. However, i can totally tell the difference between a DVI and a VGA so if someone can figure this problem out, that would be really nice...

Edit: Oh, and yes, i used driver sweeper to uninstall all Nvidia drivers from my computer, forgot to mention that.
