Question regarding my rig

Fist off, I'm not entirely sure this question goes in this thread... But, I didn't really know where else to ask it, so yeah...

With that said, down to my dilemma. I was thinking of using my 32' HDTV as my monitor for my computer, but I'm a bit concerned that I won't be able to run games at the intended resolution for something of that size and/or I'll end up damaging my computer by making it run at such a high resolution. My specs are:

Intel Core 2 Quad Q9450

512 MB GeForce 9800 GTX+

3 GB RAM

With these specs, do you guys think it would be a good idea? Thanks.
