GeForce 8500GT green tint with VGA

Hi all, I just recently picked up a NVIDIA GeForce 8500GT card, I connected my Dell M992 CRT to it with the DVI to VGA adaptor. Images look great on the screen, but videos (.mov, .avi, .wmv) all have a green tint to them. I haven't adjusted any settings in the card, just loaded the drivers and plugged it in. Is it normal to have to change the color settings for video, or do I have a defective card?

Here is my system:

Antec 300 case
XP Pro Service Pack 3
Intel D915GAG board
Intel Prescott P4 2.8 w/HT chip
1gb Kingston DDR ram
NVIDIA GeForce 8500GT 512MB DDR2 PCIe Video Card w/DVI HDMI TV-Out
400w Power Supply
Samsung Syncmaster IDE DVD writer
Western Digital 160GB Sata HDD

Here is link to the card:

Are you using the latest drivers for the card? Do you have the latest updates for the videoplayer and the latest codecs for the videos your playing?

Re: GeForce 8500GT green tint with VGA

The latest driver I have from Nvidia is 185.85, I'm updated on videoplayers, I use Media Player Classic, VLC, and Quicktime players. I didn't notice the tint issue using the onboard video just a few days ago.

Re: GeForce 8500GT green tint with VGA

upgrade your psu for pcie

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...air%2b550w

boot from the onboard
in the device manager disable the onboard
if the card is listed uninstall it
turn the computer off
install the card
change the video cable from the onboard to the card
reboot into the bios
check to see if you can disable the onboard in there and set it to detect pcie first
save and exit the bios tapping f8 and choose low resolution mode
when windows finishes booting
disable a/virus
install your drivers for the card
reboot the computer
