Question ATI TV Wonder Pro installation problems

Hi all,
Just bought and installed an ATI TV Wonder Pro card. I run into installation problems in two areas:
1. Their PC Check thinks I have an old DirectX (I have 9.0c).
2. Their PC Check tells me I have a problem with the Capture driver INF files.
The card does not capture video (funny enough, it does capture the audio that comes with the video, but teh screen is blank blue).
I already went to the ATI site, and installed their latest Mutimedia Center (should include teh drivers). Still, no good.
Anyone can help?

did you uninstall the previous video before installing the new one,you need to post more details
i.e. what you had previously and your system specs

Hi,
The TV Wonder Pro is a TV Tuner + Video Capture card. It does not replace the existing video card. So, there was nothing to uninstall.
My screen display card is ATI Radeon 9200 series with 64MB (built-in in an ASUS motherboard). This card should work perfectly with the TV WOnder Pro.
I have seen the same problems reported in this forum before, but th ethread ended without any answer of how to solve them... Nothing from ATI tech support so far... Very frustrating. How can a program mistake the DirectX version?

when i had problems with an ati card they suggested i replace it with an all in wonder card so i assumed it was a video card
have you checked out their faq,i found them to be responsive to emails straight away
i just d/l the manual for the 9800 pro,you will find it helps to read it,read the instructions on disabling the onboard graphics

I sympathize with your problems! I also use a TV Wonder Pro w/remote, and I have had nothing but problems getting everything to work right. Since I am pretty low on the PC knowledge chain, my options were limited. Aside from searching forums and calling ATI, my best fix (as basic as it seems) was to repeatedly run the "repair installation" option through Control Panel--> Add/remove programs. Not sure why, but everytime I ran it, some problems were resolved (such as some system areas not "passing" tv wonder's tests, tv-on-demand, etc.) and sometimes new problems were created (mouse disappearing during Guide Plus, no picture if TV screen was smaller than "Large"). If you happen to find any good info on TV Wonder fixes, please post the link! Here's a question for you, (or anyone else) When using TV-Out, (I have an nVidia Geforce 5200 using clone mode) can you get the Program name and channel number to display on the TV screen?--ATI senior tech said he doesn't think that could ever work, but he isnt sure.

"no picture if TV screen was smaller than "Large"" --- This problem has been fixed in the newest edition of MMC, version 9.06.00.00, I origionally wondered that too...

"When using TV-Out, (I have an nVidia Geforce 5200 using clone mode) can you get the Program name and channel number to display on the TV screen?" --- If the TV is cloning the origional monitor, and assuming you are using a resolution that the TV can understand, like 1024x768, and that it is in full-screen mode then it should display the top Program and Channel bar.

My problem with the MMC is that it does not allow me to use TV-on-Demand, but will try your method of repair and get back to you.

I have a similar problem with the same card (TV Wonder Pro). I can't get video from it, no matter what program I use. It doesn't work in the provided ATI program, it doesn't work in Pinnacle Studio 9, and I even tried Windows Movie Maker—all for no video. Sound works great though!
