[SOLVED] Screwed by Dell?
I'm concerned the video card in my recently purchased Dell desktop may not be what I ordered. I ordered a ATI Radeon HD 3650 and the Device Manager confirms that is the video card installed, however, the ports do not match those of pictures I have seen on the internet of an ATI Radeon HD 3650 (http://computershopper.com/graphics-...-graphics-card)
I ordered the ATI card b/c I'm interested in connecting two monitors to my machine and after looking at the card that's in my comp, realized it didn't have two ports. Did Dell install whatever card they felt like using that day, or is there a reasonable explanation for this? |

Thats weird , I've never seen a 3650 like that. Might be some sort of dell oem card. Or some less expensive brand like sparkle. In any case dell did install a 3650 , just with hdmi ports instead of dual dvi. It seems dell just does everything possible to make an advanced users life harder.
Oh and you would need a male hdmi to female dvi.

Re: Screwed by Dell?
Thanks for the clarification. I was unfamiliar with the HDMI ports. (Clearly, I'm not much of an advanced user
) Also, FWIW, didn't mean to rip on Dell, but was already skeptical b/c I ordered (and received) an Intel Core 2 Duo processor, but Dell slapped a Pentium Dual-Core Sticker on the case. Relatively minor oversights such as that only arouse my suspicions as to what other larger oversights may have occurred (i.e. incorrect video card). |
