[SOLVED] GeForce 9400GT - "No Display" on LCD - Works for onboard video though :(
I recently installed a GeForce 9400GT to upgrade from my onboard video yaay! BIG IMPROVEMENT, so I finally purchased a LCD monitor to enhance my game play and I go to hook the monitor up the GFX card and ..........
The monitor loads up, shows the "ACER" logo and then goes to "No Display" then the blue power button goes orange. My first instincts was the monitor was busted but the monitor works fine for my onboard motherboard video. It runs connect to the board but when I try to plug it into my 9400GT it aint having it. The monitor is an Acer X163WBWM 15.6in Wide LCD. I contacted ACER but they were no help, so I come to you guys for my last hope. I have tryed a couple other tech forums but they can't seem to help / find the time to help. I appreciate any help. Please help me fix this. ( checked search for my video card and no display errors and couldnt find nothing ) |

Not to spam just a bit more info.
The monitor turns on when it is connected to the gfx but just says no display then hibernates. I have attempted to disconnect and reconnect the gfx to no luck. I searched my bios for the onboard vga switch off but cant find it no where. Comepletely lost :( |

What is the brand name and wattage of your power supply?

No the monitor works on the onboard video but not with my GFX card.
My power supply is a DYNEX 500watt The monitor just doesn't wanna work with my 9400gt when its plugged into it. |

I don't know about the power supply, because Dynex is a known weak power supply. Could you borrow one to try in there and see if that fixes the issue?

Re: GeForce 9400GT - "No Display" on LCD - Works for onboard video though :(
I used a old school bulky monitor, the bigger ones and it worked on my 9400 GFX card.
My new monitor works on my onboard video but not my GFX card. So its just when i plug my lcd into my 9400 gfx card that is the problem. |

Re: GeForce 9400GT - "No Display" on LCD - Works for onboard video though :(
Are you using a DVI connector on the 9400 card and a VGA connector with the onboard?
If so you may have to switch the monitor from anlog to digital input. |
