Help with Video Cards Please =]

:::Please Help me :):::

Hi, I need some help with Video/Graphics Cards, so if you guys/girls can help me it would be greatly appreciated .

The Computer game that I want to play requires this to play it:

Graphics card: DirectX 9.0c compatible with 128MB RAM

And this is my DxDiag:

Machine name: ZAC
Operating System: Windows XP Home Edition (5.1, Build 2600) Service Pack 2 (2600.xpsp_sp2_rtm.040803-2158)
Language: English (Regional Setting: English)
System Manufacturer: Gateway
System Model: W3052
BIOS: Phoenix - AwardBIOS v6.00PG
Processor: AMD Sempron(tm) 3000+, MMX, 3DNow, ~2.0GHz
Memory: 1472MB RAM
Page File: 385MB used, 2984MB available
Windows Dir: C:\WINDOWS
DirectX Version: DirectX 9.0c (4.09.0000.0904)
DX Setup Parameters: Not found
DxDiag Version: 5.03.2600.2180 32bit Unicode

Card name: NVIDIA GeForce4 MX Integrated GPU
Manufacturer: NVIDIA
Chip type: GeForce4 MX Integrated GPU
DAC type: Integrated RAMDAC
Device Key: Enum\PCI\VEN_10DE&DEV_01F0&SUBSYS_927A1509&REV_A3
Display Memory: 64.0 MB
Current Mode: 1024 x 768 (32 bit) (60Hz)
Monitor: Plug and Play Monitor
Monitor Max Res: 1600,1200
Driver Name: nv4_disp.dll
Driver Version: 6.14.0010.6176 (English)
DDI Version: 9 (or higher)
Driver Attributes: Final Retail
Driver Date/Size: 7/12/2004 01:50:00, 3740032 bytes
WHQL Logo'd: Yes

So it looks like my Display memory is 1/2 the amount that it needs to be.

Questions:

-How do I turn my Display memory to 128mb?
-If I have to buy a new Video Card, how much would this cost?
-If I have to install a new Video Card, how difficult is the operation?
-Are Video Cards like DDR DIMM RAM where only certain types fit into certain OS's (pc2700, pc3200 etc..)?
-If so, how do I know what type is compatible with my OS?
-How will the New 128mb improve my computer?

Also, as a side question that I would appreciate being answered, I was told that if I installed more RAM into my Computer than my Computer would run faster, so i went out and bought 1gb DDR DIMM Pc2700 and installed it into my Computer (I previously only had 512mb) but I am not noticing a difference, any reason for this? Is there a difference just not a noticeable one?

Re: Help with Video Cards Please =]

you don't have a video card you have a onboard video chip

do you have a agp card slot on the m/board

what m/board do you have,to fit a card and run it you may also need to upgrade the power supply

if your m/b supports dual channel ram matching sticks will make a difference in speed

taking in the cost of

card
ram
psu

you may be better off looking for a s/hand p4 775 system or a new build

Re: Help with Video Cards Please =]

what's the difference between a Video card and an onboard video chip?

I don't know what that is/how to find out.

How do I find out what M/b have?

No I don't think it is Dual Channel.

What is a s/hand p4 775?

Next time when someone wants to help me can they please type in a way that I can understand please...

Re: Help with Video Cards Please =]

a card is more powerfull than a chip it has it's own ram

you can find out what you have with this

http://www.cpuid.com/pcwizard.php

it's the newer model from what you have and there are usually cheap boxes available from people who have upgraded to the latest system

do some googling reading and increase your knowledge magazine articles are also a good source as they usually show pictures which makes it a lot easier to understand what they are describing
