Cry Corrupt display owith ati powercolor x1550 512mb agp on a K8M800

Hello, I am glad to have found this site, My issue is with an ati powercolor x1550 512mb agp on a K8M800 AMD DUAL CORE =4200 2.20 GHz Processor 2 GHz RAM (PLUS THE EXTRA 512 FROM THE VID CARD, WHEN IT WORKS OF COURSE!) At the moment my video card is not conected, I am relying merely on the on board graphics card, what happened is the following After successfully installing the card this means drivers cd was used, direct x 9c was installed, installed latest drivers (9.3) and set those up in windows as well. Everything worked fine, until in Star Wars Battlefront II I decided to set the anti-aliasing to the highest settings (default was first setting 2x) then I went on to start a mission, computer freezes, and my display shows constant green pixels and diagonal lines, it is unreadable. So I removed it. Can anyone help? (I wonder if the card itself has a CMOS I could reset\clear, as I is possible on a many motherboards?) Thanks in advance Looking for light at the end of the tunnel DAVE
I use Windows Xp Pro, I have a 430 watt power supply, both the cpu fan and the video card fan are running properly, card HAS WORKED ON THIS PC!
Can't think of anything else

With only an x1550 I would turn the anti aliasing completely off , that card can't handle it. Try to keep the settings lower if possible.

Thanks I will do that, but what about my GPU artifacts? How can I restore the original display performance, after I set that setting in the game, I haven't been able to fix the GPU artifacts...

You may have overloaded it possibly. What are the cards temps like? Is it's fan still running? Do the artifacts still show up if you reinstall the card?

Also if you just recently purchased the card you should be able to return it.

Both of the fans are working properly, were working I should say, I have since returned the card, and since this was the second card that was replaced, (all were the same cards), they told me they would have a look at it, and if nothing was wrong they would refund my money. Hopefully my next purchase will be a better one, of if they fix it I will keep in mind not to over demand the vidoe card. I now know that this card will not handle antialiasing Thank you brothers for all your help. I will post further questions upon receiving my new card. Dave
