Hey!
I got a newer and better videocard from someone due to excess of somebody. It's a Geforce 2 GTS 64 Mb. The problem is that when I tried to boot my pc with this new videcard, I did not see anything at all, all the way from the beginning. I just see stripes on my screen. I have a DFI (Diamond Flower) (Crusader?) CA61 motherboard with Via Apollo Pro Plus (692/596) Chipset. I was told by someone that it could be that my BIOS perhaps could be updated or that it just isn't compatible with the videocard. Anyone else suggestions? Jeroen |

The DFI CA61 based on the Apollo Pro 133 chipest supports only 2X AGP, the later Apollo Pro133A, supports 4X AGP.
Is your GTS a 4x or 2x AGP compliant card? The slots should be different but sometimes they are not. May be a simple hardware incompatibilty as you suggest. MD

Before I was using the highly high-tech (
) Diamond Speedstar A50. This one has an AGP 2x interface, while this is said about the Geforce (I've checked it at some site): Slot Type 1 x AGP 4x; AGP Support AGP 1x, AGP 2x, AGP 4x This means that the card is only compatible with a slot on a motherboard of 4x AGP? Still not working
It's still not working. I think there must be something else wrong as well, because the pc from which I took the videocard, now doesn't work with the card as well. Here I get a screen with stripes all over it as well when I try to boot it. I figured it could be the lack for a driver or something, so I downloaded a driver from Nvidea and installed it. But when I boot my pc afterwards with the new videocard, the screen still remains the same, i.e. stripes all over.
Suggestions are most welcome!

Yes, that might help, It's just that there's no way of me to reboot. I see no startup screen or whatsoever. It's just stripes all over the screen from the moment I turn the pc on. A friend told me it might as well got broke while changing it from the one pc to mine .... ?

No, I don't get any beeps indicating that fact. And the thing is, when I put in my old videocard in either pc's, they both boot normally. With a normal screen and all. Do you then still think it could be possible that it is something with CMOS and I should reset it?

sometimes resetting the cmos lets you back in,if it does'nt and you lost the second card i would suspect the p/s or m/b also check you have not bent a pin when connecting monitor cable
