Can't find video card that will ft
I have a Dell E510 and would like to set up dual monitors. I purchased a video card but it will not fit into the slot. The card is bulky and the slots do not fit into the computer's slots. Does anyone know a card that will fit in this computer? HELP!!!

Re: Can't find video card that will ft
I will be honest, this is all a foreign language to me, I went into Best Buy and the guy gave me a Galaxy 7200GS. I looked at it and it says it is for a PCI however the slots that it installs into are oppsite. The long slot is closest to the end of the machine (I hope that makes sense)

The PCIe x16 slot will be the closest one to the CPU.

Re: Can't find video card that will ft
I thought I needed asecond video card but my husband thinks we can get an adaptor for the white slot to turn it into two blue slots on one card (I know white and blue slots are technical terms)

Re: Can't find video card that will ft
The Blue slot is called VGA, the White Slot is called DVI you need a DVI to VGA adapter.

Re: Can't find video card that will ft
Yes it's called Extended or Cloned desktops with Extended you can drag programs from one screen to the other to effectively double the desktop size, In Cloned Mode you get the same view on each useful for presentations on a large screen.

Re: Can't find video card that will ft
A friend of mine said once I have the monitors set up I will need to download imware in order to use it effectively. I have dual monitors at work and we use imware. Is that the program you suggest for extended desktop?

Re: Can't find video card that will ft
You can do it with the existing Video driver on your computer both ATI and Nvidia have that function build into the drivers for at least the last 10 years even Intel has it for laptop video, Right click on a open area of your desktop and select properties from the list,
Then the Settings Tab, Then the Adapter Tab, What does it name for the Brand of card ATI or Nvidia? You should also see a Tab with the adapters name on it there you can select extended or cloned, but before you change any settings it's best to have the second monitor hooked up. |
