My System

choppy video watching either flash or files

Hello,

Dell Latitude
XP profesional V.2002
SPK 3
Intel Pentium 4 M CPU
CPU 2.0 GHz
1.99 GHZ, 1 GB RAM

Had some virus issues and did a clean install. Now youtube, google, and even downloaded video plays all choppy. The sound is fine but the video is choppy and stuttery.

What I've done:
tried to update video card drivers - says I have most recent
set my CPU to maximum in bios
I've fiddled with the -control panel/system properties/advanced/performance options/advanced - set processor scheduling and memory usage settings to adjust for programs, background services, system cache in different combinations.

For virtual memory in the same window as above, I tried the "system managed" options as opossed to the defautl custome size.

I tried different browsers including Opera which some people have had success with.

Java is enabled.

I reinstalled flash.

I tried letting the video completely load/cache before starting.

I cleared history/cookies/cache on browser.

May have done something else but can't remember.

This is driving me kookoo as I used to watch youtube and downloaded videos with no problems.

Any advice or ideas are greatly appreciated on how to get the vids playing smooth again.

Thanks.
