after market coolers
hi, I have a ASUS 4870 currently with glacier stock heatsink and fan,, the fan now makes a horrid vibrating when spinning and you can feel the vibrations though the desk, i am looking at changing the stock cooler with Accelero twin turbo, i can understand why you apply heatsink onto the vrm chips but why are needed on the ram chips with an after market cooler when with a stock cooler there are no heatsinks on ram....only fan and heatsink on gpu and only heatsink on vrm chip
thanks |

Re: after market coolers
Because the memory also gets warm and this would be an UPGRADE from the stock cooler which does not have memory heat sinks. If there's memory chips on the opposite side of the card as well you can also consider small heat sinks for those too.
