Stripes on monitor, plz help.

Hello,

First a preview of my components, P4 2.8 GHz, Radeon 9800 Pro, 19 inch lcd, corsair memories, 1 GB. XP sp2

When i opened the computer some wired stripes appeared on my monitor, they look like this http://img4.imageshack.us/img4/4023/newbitmapimagev.jpg It's a print screen not a picture taken with a camera.
They appear from the begining of the boot, when it saids what computer u have, hdds. It's not a windows xp sp2 problem.
I tried changing the lcd monitor and the stripes appear also. Used also another cable.
Any chance to be something else than the video card, like memories, or motherboard?

thats what my sons computer looked like, just like that and it was an 9800 pro. i gave up on trying to fix it after going almost bald pulling my hair out and replaced the video card. the fan had died on it and i did not know until my son said dad whats this all about. i put a new fan on it but it was too late the GPU had overheated and cooked itself by then.
