Stop error after riva tuner texture memory allocation

Hello,
I have a Nvidia 8800Gt, core2quad and 2 gb ram.
I had installed riva tuner on my pc and was exploring it a bit. I made a stupid mistake and set the texture memory allocation option to 900mb and then restarted my computer.
on restarting it the main BIOS loading page did not display and the windows loading page directly appeared. Now after the windows loading page i get a Stop error: 0x0000007E.
I then uninstalled the graphics driver and rivatuner through safe mode and then restarted it but this time i got the screen in 640 by 480 res. and with very very low color. After that i reinstalled the bios in my computer. When i did this the bios loading page started to appear and the windows also started properly. but now when i install the graphic card driver(ver 182.08) and then restart the comp the same blue screen appears again.
I then again installed the bios and booted the comp and this time it worked perfectly fine, even with the graphic driver installed, but on restarting the computer again the same blue screen appears.
can somebody helpp pleasseee!!! im quite worried.

Re: Stop error after riva tuner texture memory allocation

Try using driver cleaner and completely wipe out any trance of nvidia anything. Then reinstall the drivers fresh.

Re: Stop error after riva tuner texture memory allocation

I already tried that. I even formatted my hard disk and installed a new xp 2 os but it doesnt make any difference in the situation. I think it might have to do something with the bios or something like that. Do graphic cards have a bios? if yes, i think reinstalling that might do it but im not sure.what do you think? Thanks for trying to help me.

You say you reinstalled the motherboard bios? did you use the latest bios or the bios that you were using? I wouldn't mess with the video card bios unless you have exhausted every other option.

Re: Stop error after riva tuner texture memory allocation

Reset the CMOS.
Reinstall your chipset drivers
In safe mode use driver cleaner to uninstall all nVidia and ATi drivers.
Then install the latest.

Restart.

edit* didn't see your post there emo,

Re: Stop error after riva tuner texture memory allocation

I had reloaded my motherboard(DG33FB) with the latest BIOS update.

Ok, I reinstalled my windows and was installing the drivers from the driver cd given along with the board where I encountered a new problem. It installed the chipsets properly. The problem came when i was installing the Intel Graphic media accelerator s/w. Once installed it rebooted the comp. On rebooting everything went fine till the windows loading page but after that there was no video ( black screen although the monitor was on ) but the windows login sound and all came properly meaning that windows had started but there was no video. I then had to go in safe mode and remove that s/w to make my comp work.
so does this problem lie in the motherboard or the graphic card?
Once my pc started working without any video drivers, i retied installing only the graphic media accelerator but this time it didn't even start. It gave error message"your system doesnt meet minimum requirements". Around a month back( when my comp was fine) i had tried installing updated version of this s/w and had got the same message. Then, I had ignored it as evrything worked fine. So whats happening? Was the problem already there? did the rivatuner made it worse? This is now getting too confusing for me. Hope there is a solution to this that doesnt involve buying h/w.
