geforce 9600 gt for pcie x16 1.0

hi
i have intel dual core 3.0
asus p5gc mx mobo
2bg ram
and geforce 7200gs graphics card
i am thinking to upgrade my graphics card to 9600gt
will it compatible with pcie x 16 1.0 slot?
i heard that 9 series cards are for pcie x16 2.0 compatible
my psu is 450 watt

You'll need a decent 550w for a 9600 with 26 amps on the 12v rail and to be 80+ cert. The 9600 will be fine on that board.
