Dual Monitor question
I got an annoying little issue that has an employee getting very fustrated. I set him up with a brand new computer with Windows XP Pro that has an eVGA 9400GT video card installed and I set him up with dual monitors.
The problem is that he has to occasional use a 40" screen for projects and when he unplugs the secondary monitor and plugs in the 40" monitor in its place he has to go to the display properties all the time to set it up again. He told me when he did that with his old laptop it used to just do it automatically. So I am wondering if there is a way to set it up so that it automatically detects the two different secondary monitors and sets itself appropriately according to which one is plugged. The other thing is that the primary screen seems to change randomly when the monitors are unplugged even though the monitor designated as the primary screen is never unplugged. The is the first time I've dealt with dual monitors so any tips would be greatly appreciated, thanks. |

Re: Dual Monitor question
I think I may have found a simple solution that will ease his fustration. I'm going to use a Y cable for the secondary monitors so that they share the same image. That way all he has to do is turn on the 40" screen and he'll be able to work. The added bonus is that he can work off the smaller secondary screen as the others can watch on the bigger screen.
