New Vid Card Needed?

I think I need a new video card. Here's the situation. I have a several year old PC that runs fine for what I want it to do except that recently a couple of my games have started to have video problems. The games are Halo and Unreal Tournament 2004. Everything else that I do (web surfing, e-mail, office programs, etc...) run fine. I took the side cover off, cleaned out the inside of the PC and discovered that the fan on my vid card is no longer working. After leaving the PC off for several hours I started it up and immediately started UT2004. It played perfect for 1 round and then the video problems came back.

My current system is a P4-2.4GHz, 768MB, GeForce4 Ti4400. I'm going to need a 8x AGP card that's capable of playing the games listed above. I have no real interest in shelling out the money for a whole new PC at this time.

Do you agree with my assessment that I need a new video card? If so, what would be a good one to get that meets my needs?

Thanks much,

Re: New Vid Card Needed?

You could get a new vid card or replace your vid fan with an aftermarket cooler for the one you have....Zalman or artic cooling should have one that works

Re: New Vid Card Needed?

It's might actually be cheaper to just buy a whole new card

You can probably just find the exact geforce 4 on ebay for a few bucks.
