Graphic card code 10?

Hey

I made a thread before saying that I could not reformat the computer.
I borrowed my friend's Window XP Pro cd so I can reformat.
Finally I reformated, but the problem is I have to install all the drivers.
My graphic card an Nvidia 7600gs is saying Code 10 saying that "This driver cannot start."

No clue what to do, I went to the Help and support thingy for the computer
It says to uninstall it then reinstall it.
did nothing...

Re: Graphic card code 10?

Posting all hardware specs is always a good idea. Did you install mobo
drivers ie chipset drivers?

Re: Graphic card code 10?

Can you get into windows as I described in my last post? You should
always install chipset drivers imo.

Re: Graphic card code 10?

If your motherboard is the p4p800-mx go here.
http://support.asus.com/download/dow...odel=P4P800-MX
Download and install. If you still have the mobo cd the drivers will
be on it as well.
You didnt list your power supply wattage and brand.
Did you uninstall old drivers prior to installing the card?

Omg, i was about to open a thread with the exact same problem and the funny thing is that my computer is exactl y the same.

CPU: P4 2.8
Mobo: P4p800
Card: Nvidia 6800 GS
Memory: 1.5 DDR2 ram

After reeinstalling windows, i entered it with no problems and after installing the card drivers i went to the hardware devices and it shows the card with a exclamation point saying the device cant start ( code 10 ) Ive tryed unpluging it and vice-versa, unistaling drivers and installing again, i even did a fressh install of my windows again.. Nothing helped.. I didnt install bios drivers because it was never did before and it worked fine..

Anyway, this time ive changed memory ram slots and unplugged the mobo battery because it was needed for a previous problem.. Prolly this has somehow anything to do it with it?

Any tips people?

Re: Graphic card code 10?

code 10 is drivers not installed

in the device manager uninstall the video card
reboot tapping f8 and choose vga mode
when windows finishes rebooting
disable a/virus
install your drivers
reboot the computer

Enabling VGA by pressing F8 and then installing the drivers didnt work out :( i dont know what else to do.. The card is detected with the drivers so i dont know why it is not working out..

Any more tips Friend?

Re: Graphic card code 10?

ok it seems that the problem is that i was using 1500 mb of ram ( 512mb x 3 ddr 333 mhz ) and aparently that causes troubles on a computer as we can only use pairs like 512 or 1gb or 2gb ..

Can anyone confirm this?

Re: Graphic card code 10?

Hey nogears
I fixed the solution by just getting Vista lol....
which sucks.... but all my drivers are now installed
Ask a friend or someone if you can use their CD to reboot

Because I tried many ways of fixing it and nothing worked

Re: Graphic card code 10?

Hey Nogears I just fixed the problem
LOL!!!!
Either way
What I did was go to device Management
Uninstall it and then do Scan for hardware change
Then Click on the second bubble, Recommand setting(Internet must be on I think)
From there it should install
If it says Cannot be Installed. Restart the computer, then the screen should pop up saying VGA or something like that to install. Do the same thing, then it should install after that the Video card should be installed, but you need to restart the Computer again
